Early Language Skills
English from pre-school, French from Year 4.
Many children are excited to be able to express themselves in a foreign language and we capitalize on their natural curiosity from the moment they start pre-school. Learning a new language from an early age fosters a lifelong intuitive relationship with the language and the way it is pronounced. In addition, early language skills help broaden the children’s view and understanding of their world.
We have successfully taught foreign languages for over 30 years with the added advantage that many of our teachers are native speakers. The children learn English from pre-school and French from Year 4. Learning French from an early age has meant that many of our former pupils have developed a love of the language and through that n affinity with France.
Having to learn a new language after everyone else has started can be a little daunting. However, with motivation, help and encouragement from home and school children quickly progress. Where needed the school provide extra language support
